Wise Words From Ron Hart!

Since 2021 Ron Hart has been the Construction Supervisor for Cheboygan County Habitat. He has put blood, sweat and lots of hard work into eliminating unsafe housing across Cheboygan County. Not only has he helped repair and build homes, but he has brought together a group of vigorous volunteers that all believe in the same mission; To provide safe, decent and affordable housing for Cheboygan County residents.

"I feel every house is special to the community and most importantly it supplies a safe place for a family to live and become part of that community.  When I hear or see of someone that needs critical home repairs whether it’s a working bathroom, steps or a ramp to get into their home, I want to help them.  I enjoy seeing how the family Benefits from the work I can do.  Sometimes I complete these jobs alone or with volunteers that assist me.  When the job is complete you see the homeowners surprise because I believe they never thought it could be fixed.  Myself and a couple of volunteers just fixed that for them.  It’s even hard for me to imagine sometimes, how such a little bit of help goes so far.  I enjoy helping others, meeting people like or volunteers and customers, who care about others and working with them. 

​When I arrive at a job location, what I see is a bunch of good people doing something they love for the benefit of someone who will never have a home or get their home repaired any other way. When I get one of these repair jobs assigned to me, I say, 
“It’s time to go do some good!!”"
