Mandy Martin Executive Director
Mandy joined the staff in April 2019, after serving 6 years as the Operations Manager with Northwest Michigan Habitat. She has a Masters in Management from Davenport University and recently completed a CMA Certificate. Mandy firmly believes in the work Habitat is doing and the lasting impact a safe, affordable home can have on a family for generations to come.

Ron Hart Construction Supervisor
Ron joined the staff in October 2021, after his retirement from Cheboygan Schools. He served in many roles in the school system and later worked for himself at his construction company. Ron has always had the goal to see that people are provided with homes that are designed to be simple, decent, and affordable with a focus on sustainable building practices and energy efficiency.

Melissa Tallman ReStore Operations Manager
Melissa started as a part-time sales associate in 2012, was promoted to Assistant Manager in 2014 and now serves as our ReStore Operations Manager. She has a B.S. in Education from Central Michigan University. Melissa wants you to know that shopping at the ReStore not only helps you get what you need at affordable prices, but also helps Habitat build, rehab or repair homes right here in your community.

Board Members
Elinore Barney
Board President Elinore joined the Board of Directors in 2013. Elinore brings a background in education and experiences as a teacher, school administrator, and teacher trainer in several different states. After retirement she became a hospital chaplain and a lay preacher and service leader for several area churches. When she is not busy with Habitat, you can find her serving with the Indian River Kiwanis. |
Carol Sherwood
Board Secretary Carol joined the Board of Directors in 2015 and has served on many committees supporting the Habitat mission. When Carol is not helping out at Habitat, you can find her serving on the board of Salvation Army and Ottawa Park. She is very active in the Cheboygan community and a big advocate for affordable housing and other local community organizations. |
Elizabeth Schaefer
Board Vice President Betty joined the Board of Directors in 2008 and has been active in most parts of the organization from serving as the Treasurer for many years to helping on the job site. She is also very active in planning our Annual Banquet. Betty is very active in the Cheboygan community and volunteers with Vita, St. Mary's Task Force and many other great community organizations. |
Beth Smith
Board Member Beth is passionate about supporting and improving quality of life in the Cheboygan community. Beth truly believes “When a family helps build or improve a place they can call home, they are also building a better community, a better life for themselves.” Beth is currently an Associate Director of Sales at Kraft Heinz. |
Darrin Deeter
Board Treasurer Darrin joined the Board of Directors in April of 2021. Darrin grew up in the area and recently moved back with his family. When he saw that Habitat was looking for Board Members, he thought this was the right fit for him! He brings a vast background to our board and is looking forward to helping us grow our mission in the community. |
Steve Evoy
Board Member Steve joined the board in April of 2021. When he is not busy with Habitat obligations, Steve is a teacher at Wolverine Schools and a Pastor in Wolverine! He is very active in his community and looking forward to Habitat becoming more active in the Wolverine Area. |
Todd Charboneau
Board Member Todd joined the Board of Directors in December of 2021. When Todd is not busy building or rehabbing homes in his every day life, he can be found spending time with his family, volunteering with Habitat and serving as a Fire Fighter for the City of Cheboygan. Todd has a passion for being a helping hand to those in need. |
